Jigga loves our city, great interview in Time Out. I wonder which restaurants he's talking about... He's a great icon, and all the hype at Glasto is pretty pointless, he'll do his thing. This is one of my favorite films of all time.  The colors are so vivid and the soundtrack is remarkable, really adds to the suspense and complements the story perfectly.

Swings and Roundabouts

In the UK we have had a long history of dance music. The cycles of music constantly change, come back, reinvent themselves and morph into hybrid mash ups of extraordinary wonderfulness. Dance music in this country is seeing a reemergence, both in "clubland" (of which it never really left, but just got a little bit stale IMO) and in the charts. Perhaps this has something to do with Ibiza, its euphoric rise again in the hearts and minds of British Ravers and the influx of cash and cool to the island in recent years. Services providing hedonistic adventures for those who were once either not "cool" enough to venture to the Island, or those who cared little for its scene have become prominent alongside the "new" VIP areas, all for a hefty price tag. Another reason may well be because 20 somethings stealing their siblings CDs can now afford and are old enough to visit the island which sparked many a story of debauchery which you were not meant to hear!

Check out BBC Radio 2's documentary series on British dance music.  Featuring a little bit of everything, but one segment I am particularly keen to check out is the slice of Northern Soul.  My Dad loves Northern Soul and I owe him a lot in terms of music education, but if I could travel back in time to one era of British culture it would be to the all night soul dances of The Twisted Wheel Club in Manchester that I've heard so much about.  

Put on your dancing shoes!  Finally the monotony of "Chip Shop Indie" as one kid at my uni poignantly summed up its wackness, may just well be over, for one summer at least!

Damn, so had a mad week, and it ain't over yet!  Apologies for the lack of posts but 'Dance Wiv Me' is gathering a lot of heat right now and we've been putting in the grind at the Dirtee Camp. Went to Cambridge University on Tuesday night and it was a lot.  The future diplomats, heirs and the upper echelons of academia put a lot of crowds to shame.  They know how to throw a party, but for something like 120 quid a ticket they should do.  To cut a long story short Diz smacked it in one of the craziest settings, St John's college is one of the oldest most prestigious colleges at Cambridge.  Shy FX played some heavy tunes and the whole Dirtee Stank Team raved it up.   Shout out to the Cambridge massive who kept the party going till 6am.

The Trapaholics dropped a heavy mixtape entitled 'Alter Ego The Mixtape' its all Andre throughout, some tracks have been featured on the 'Back to the Future' mixtape which is another classic for any Andre or Outkast fan. This Trapaholics tape also includes new bits such as the Royal Flush track with Big Boi & Raekwon. Can't wait for that new Outkast man.

I think this clips funny, fair play to Busta, but what gets me the most is how this woman complains about him swearing in front of Children??  Now, correct me if I'm wrong, but, Busta is a rapper, who swears all the time in his lyrics, the kids are fans (i presume) and therefore not completely abhorrent to to a bit of blue language in the odd rap verse!  Stupid dumb b*tch.
