Kaws - "The Long Way Home"

The Hundreds is probably my favorite blog at the moment, it's clean and on point. The photography is dope and its nice to get an insight into the world of a truly fantastic street wear brand. Now I don't particular like L.A but I wish I was at Honor Fraser for the opening of this exhibition. Kaws is a seriously amazing artist. His work is so sharp and vivid. I would love to own a piece, for me he is far more important than Banksy, he is the real representation of 21st Century Pop-Art. Superlatives are redundant. He's the man.

The Future Sight Of London: Nico Hogg

You have to check out Blackdown's interview with Nico Hogg, a fantastic piece on a truly amazing photographer. The interview has re-instated my faith in blogs, its a great double post from one of Dub-Step's finest.

Nico Hogg's images truly portray an informed, honest perspective of London's streets, his view and interpretation of the city is steeped in artistic integrity, read the interview here: part 1, part 2. It will truly inspire.

I'm back in London and Thursday nights are alright for arting. eeeerm not sure about the Elton John pun! But I'm back in town, buoyant from some very exciting news today (all will be revealed in good time) and very much looking forward to checking Sunny's latest show.

Sunil is the creative director over at Freewheelin', my old employers (must change the about me blurb) I've been waiting for this show for awhile, a great DJ, great artist and a cool guy to be around.

Emory Douglas, a leading member of the Black Panther Party and a very talented graphic artist exhibits a collection of his work at the Urbis in Manchester. I for one am hoping this talented radical comes to London. His collection of work, placed within the context of the racism which blighted Sixties' America is both thought provoking and impressive.




Black Panther: Emory Douglas and the Art of Revolution, opens on Thursday 30 October.

You can check out the photography of Robert Frank alongside the images of Christopher Wool and Wade Guyton in the 83rd edition of Parkett. For those that aren't familiar Parkett is a leading chronicler of contemporary art, and with over 80 issues its a classic for the coffee table.

Ignore the crappy at ad at the beginning of this clip, its worth it. Fantastic creative video of some painters from Japan. A lot of time and prep must have gone into this. It really shows you how mixed media platforms can portray totally new stories by way of a combination of art and media. Enjoy.

Nature's Revenge

Ludo is an incredibly talented street artist from Paris. His images transcribe man's destruction of nature through art. I'm not an eco-warrior in the slightest but his portrayal of nature in an urban setting, often incorporating machinery or weapons, is particularly plaintive and engages us the viewer to question our own interaction with the world around us, particularly nature.

Car Park Cool

I came across Axel Peemoller via the good people over at Frank151. (shout out to Justin)

He is a heavy designer and I'm really feeling a lot of his work, his site is doing alot for me and I really like how he's put together his page, check him out here.

A project that he's recently curated in a Melborne Car Park is particularly inspiring. When we are exposed to so many notices, signs and directions everyday in the city, it is always refreshing to see someone take a truly mundane but practical notice and flip it. A lot is to be said of a well signed car park! The amount of times i've acknowledged losing the whip in a multi-story is pathetic!
